As a society do you feel we have lost our sense of style and ettiquette? I was on the bus after work and heard some young women (21-25 years old) talking loudly about how they got drunk and had sex and became ill. In public for everyone to hear, like it was nothing. I remember thinking "what has become of us as a society?" I'm only 42 and I would have never had that sort of conversation in a public place! Times have definitely changed and not always for the better. We don't dress up anymore. We don't even feel like we have to be polite to one another. It's so alarming and very sad.

I agree with you. I am 31 and believe that people today no longer respect one another and kids/teenagers and just plain rude to their friends and people in general. I asked my 14 year old niece once why she spoke to her friend so rudely over the phone and she said, "Well, that's how we talk." Well, I never talked or talk to anyone that way over the phone in person. Yes, you are definitely correct, things change, but not always for the better. I love nostalgia and I still think that there was an innocence back then that was somehow lost in the 60s. It was still there a little in the 70s, but slowly drifted away, never to return. -Kristi
