When I was a kid in the 60s, we had these placemats which depicted various fairy tales on the front (Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, etc) and had the story on the back. The pictures were remarkable, having a Norman Rockwell-Magic Realism-Pixar animation quality to them, of course all before computer generated graphics. I'm not really interested in the placemats per se, but I would like to know the name of the artistic style used to create the images. The pictures had an incredible 3D photo realistic detail about them, down to individual plant leaves. I'm really curious about how they were made, and I'd appreciate any information anyone could give me about them, such as a picture of one, the company who made them, or how the scenes were created . Thanks!
